Terms of Service
CC Optimized is an informational tool for comparing credit card rewards. It is not a financial advisor, a lender, or a broker, and the numbers it shows are estimates.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the service. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.
2. What CC Optimized is — and isn't
CC Optimized compares publicly available credit card reward structures and helps you keep track of recurring card benefits. That's all it does.
- It is not financial, tax, or legal advice. We are not a licensed financial advisor and nothing in the product is a recommendation to open, close, or carry any particular financial product.
- It is not affiliated with any issuer. Card names and issuer names are used descriptively to identify products. We are not endorsed by, or partnered with, American Express, Chase, Citi, Capital One, Discover, Wells Fargo, Bilt, or anyone else.
- It does not connect to your accounts. CC Optimized has no access to your bank or card accounts and cannot make, see, or affect any transaction.
3. Accuracy of card information
Reward rates, annual fees, credits, and terms are maintained by hand from public sources and will sometimes be out of date or wrong. Issuers change terms without notice, offers vary by applicant, and some benefits require enrollment or have conditions we do not model.
Always confirm details with your issuer before making a decision. You are responsible for your own spending, and we are not liable for rewards you did not earn or credits you did not receive.
Point valuations in the app are opinions, not market prices. Actual redemption value varies enormously with how you redeem.
4. Your account
- Keep your password to yourself and use a strong, unique one.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
- One account per person. Don't create accounts with someone else's email.
5. Acceptable use
Don't:
- Scrape, bulk-download, or resell the card catalog or any other part of the service.
- Attempt to access another user's data, probe for vulnerabilities, or circumvent authentication or rate limits.
- Upload unlawful content, including in the free-text nickname fields.
- Use the service to build a competing product from our data.
If you find a security vulnerability, please report it to security@example.com rather than exploiting it. We won't pursue good-faith researchers who give us a reasonable chance to fix things.
6. Your content
Card nicknames and similar text you write remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store and display them back to you within the service.
7. Availability and changes
The service is provided as-is and may change, break, or go down. We may add, alter, or remove features. If we ever discontinue CC Optimized, we will give signed-in users reasonable notice and a window to export their data.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings; it takes effect immediately. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are being used to harm the service or other users.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost rewards, lost credits, or financial decisions made in reliance on the app.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Changes to these terms
We'll post the updated date at the top of this page, and email signed-in users before material changes take effect. Continuing to use CC Optimized after that means you accept the new terms.
11. Contact
Before launch: add your governing law and jurisdiction, your legal entity name and address, and real contact addresses, then have counsel review the whole document.
